I have been trying to tell you that for a long time. That is something each person has to learn for themselves. Once you realize that you are the person who is going to fulfill you, the hunt for a 'perfect partner' seems less important. And that is usually when you meet some of your best friends. Other people will always let us down, no matter how wonderful a person they are. Plus, there is no "perfect" person out there, as we all know. You are absolutely right that it's best to embody those characteristics you want in yourself. Then you still have them even when that "other" may let you down. Case in point: I always wanted to learn to play the violin well. I made friends with a couple of people who are fantastic violinists and I spent a lot of time yearning for what they had in terms of playing skill. But instead of being satisfied just hanging around them and watching them play, I decided to learn those skills myself, as much as possible. It has been so rewarding and now I feel like I have filled in a "missing piece" for myself. It also made me appreciate my piano talents more because I already have them! This is so true, Felipe.
